With the world seemingly spinning off its axis lately, people have been generally tense and insecure about what the future has in store for them. With unending confusion and fear about Covid and our ever changing society, we seem to be existing during a crucial time in what is commonly called civilization. The term seems outdated because there’s nothing civil about what has been going on in the world lately, and the tension has been making its way into the corporate world. There needs to be a shift in focus to a more polite and accepting society. A society where people are respected for who they are, regardless of how they look or what political candidate they support. If not, the problem will inevitably continue to exist.

We know the phrase, “Why can’t we all get along?”, is often said as a joke, although it shouldn’t be. Working to be a more inclusive society and accepting others for who they are can be the new norm. Just talking about what we are doing to help isn’t enough. People need to start being the difference they want to see in the world. If you’ve had enough of the general malaise, work towards positive change in the workplace and your neighborhood. It’s up to each individual to do what they can to make the world a better place for everyone. Be the change you want to see. It’s worth it.
