We have all been there, counting the hours of sleep you’ll get on a Sunday night, waiting to start your Monday morning commute into the office. Mondays have long been received as negative and each one of us has vocalized our complaints with the number one most dreaded day of the week. How did we get to this point?
Let’s take the negativity out of Mondays. We spend a large portion of our lives working, and the larger part of our days are spent employed. There is a way to take the negativity out of Mondays. Getting your employees ready to tackle the week is simple. Follow these 6 tips and your employees will be sure to arrive with a smile on their faces.
Focus on your employees’ personal development. An employee who feels like they have a positive direction and is led by a company that is willing to listen feels they can achieve success. A path to success means that the employee understands what is required of them to succeed, and they feel good about doing it.
Special assignments given to employees based on their skills means that they know you are paying attention. The employee will feel trusted and empowered. We all know what we are skilled at, and we tend to enjoy completing assignments that we can excel in. Not only will you see productivity in the assignment given, but the employee will give great focus to it.
Office events are often overlooked. However, just like recess in school, it was the time of day that we could relax and unwind. Office events are a great way to give your employees something to look forward to. Planning events during work hours give your employees time to unwind and offers a chance for your employees to bond.
Be a positive part of your employees work day. Not everyone enjoys what they do every day, and a great way to combat that is to be a leader they look forward to working for. If you genuinely believe in what you are working for and continue to speak positively, those around you will be sure to follow.
Work-life balance is important. Your employees need time to step away from their work life and enjoy their personal life. Vacation time often goes unused and we spend most of our waking hours employed. Encouraging your employees to use their vacation time allows them to step away and reset.
Recognize your employees for the hard work they do every day. This allows management to see just how well your employees are performing. Your employees will find that you are taking the time to see their efforts.
